Cedar
- The cedar ones are just warmer and more friendly in my hands.
- When I first started playing, I much prefered the warm sound of cedar
- I find that my Cedar top Cuenca guitar has a warm sound.
-I am pretty much a cedar man, I love the warmer sound, spruce sounds kind of characterless to me.
- I have seen many cedars with big and small price tags that were much to thick and warm for my tastes.
- I even saw many cedar guitars whose sounds are brighter than those of some spruce guitars.
Spruce
- I played some spruce tops with such bright tone it was not a pleasure to play.
- I know many people who love spruce, they like the clarity and projection.
- Spruce generally tends to be a bit brighter aiding the matter.
- I realize a spruce top offers more colors and projection, especially over time as it opens up
